Small Green Handmade Pottery Bowl with Wildflowers Design

The essence of picturesque meadows that I see around me in Kent are captured by the intricate detail of the delicate wildflowers and graceful grasses, created with pops of purple, red and yellow colour. A slip and sgraffito method of decoration is carefully employed, with the flower stems and the grasses being etched into the clay, adding depth and texture to the surface. These bowls bring the beauty of nature indoors, evoking a sense of tranquillity to whoever holds them.

The bowls are hand thrown with a buff coloured stoneware clay on my potter’s wheel in my garden studio in Kent, UK. The clay is fired with a transparent glaze inside and out, with the foot ring at the base being left unglazed. My maker’s mark is embossed onto the outside of the bowl.

• I make each bowl myself so please expect some variation in shape, size, capacity and decoration between each item – each one is unique. I am always happy to send you photos or exact dimensions.

• All items are packaged in a special cardboard box. They are then placed in a further box with compostable chips for transit. Occasionally I use other packaging in order to reuse it and avoid sending it to landfill.
