White Handmade Pottery Espresso Cup with Knole Tree Design

Elevate your morning ritual by sipping your espresso with a touch of nature and history. This small white ceramic cup is handmade and encircled by trees inspired by Knole park in Kent. The trees tell a story of resilience and renewal as the park was badly hit by the 1987 hurricane with some trees surviving and some succumbing to the storm.

Handmade in my garden studio, the espresso cups are decorated using a slip and sgraffito technique, with the branches and trunks of the trees being etched through the slip to the clay behind. The mugs are fired with a transparent, food safe glaze. My maker’s mark is stamped into the base of the handle.
