Medium Handmade Green Pottery Jug with Wildflower Design

This delightful medium sized jug is surrounded by a wildflowers pattern with a pale green background that contrasts gently with the pale coloured stoneware clay. It will easily brighten your table, serve as a wonderful gift to someone special, bringing the beauty of the natural world into your home.

I have used a slip and sgraffito technique to create an intricate wildflowers design, etching through the slip to the clay behind. The flowers in the design are pops of red, purple and yellow, along with graceful grasses. The design is inspired by the picturesque wildflower meadows that I see while walking through the Kent countryside near my house.

The jug is hand thrown on my potter’s wheel in my garden studio. The clay is fired with a transparent, food safe glaze inside and out, with the detailing towards the base of the pot being left unglazed. My maker’s mark is stamped into the base of the jug.

• All items are packaged in a special cardboard box. They are then placed in a further box with compostable chips for transit. Occasionally I use other packaging in order to reuse it and avoid sending it to landfill
