Large Handmade White Bowl with Midsummer Flower Design

This large handmade stoneware pottery bowl would be a wonderful addition to your tableware collection. The wheel thrown bowl has a white slip background and is circled with a flower design in the colours of the rainbow. The pattern is inspired by my own garden on a summers evening and evokes a sense of joy and the timeless beauty of nature.

The bowl is hand thrown on my potters’ wheel in my garden studio in Kent, UK. It is then turned to create the foot rings on the base of the bowl and then decorated by hand. The base of the bowl below the white colour is unglazed on the outside so that the rough surface of the clay can be felt. The foot ring is also left unglazed. Three of the bowls are made from particularly rough clay, and one is smoother.

With its larger size, it is both versatile for presenting food but can also be used as a centrepiece or decorative accent to a room.

•           All items are packaged in a special cardboard box. They are then placed in a further box with compostable chips for transit. Occasionally I use other packaging in order to reuse it and avoid sending it to landfill.
